“How to Make Pancakes – Step by Step
Guide”
Pancakes are a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast that can be customized with various
toppings. Below is a step-by-step guide to making classic fluffy pancakes.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons (25g) sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup (180ml) milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons (30g) melted butter or oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Butter or oil for cooking
Step 1: Gather Ingredients and Tools
Before starting, ensure you have all the ingredients measured and ready. You'll also need
a mixing bowl, a mixer, a ladle, and a non-stick frying pan or griddle.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. To equally
spread the ingredients, mix them together.
Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract
(if using). Ensure that every component is thoroughly mixed.
Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredient's basin gradually. Use a mixer or spatula to mix gently. Do not overmix—some lumps are fine.
Pancakes made with too much mixing may become dense rather than airy.
Step 5: Preheat the Pan
Place a non-stick frying pan or griddle on medium heat. Add a tiny bit of oil or butter and
let it melt. To avoid sticking, evenly distribute it.
Step 6: Cook the Pancakes
1. Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the pan for each pancake.
2. Cook until you see bubbles forming on the surface and the edges start to look dry
(about 2 minutes).
3. Flip the pancake using a spatula and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
Step 7: Serve and Enjoy
After taking the pancakes out of the pan, put them on a dish with your preferred
decorations such as butter, syrup, fresh fruits, or whipped cream—serve warm garnished
with butter, syrup, or fresh fruit.
